Need Advice

Ok, seem to be having problems left and right. Biggest problem would be how to decide what is black and what is black/gray. Tried the Kimi raw since I seen that it was the toughest to try. I have both NeatImage and Topaz, but can't quite figure out which is better to use. Read the tut on here with NeatImage in it, so basically went with that on this one. The grays look like crap to me, but couldn't figure out how to smooth them out, if I'm correctly describing it. I felt Haruto's uniform wasn't suppose to be completely black, but wasn't sure. Eba looks like shattered glass in the 3rd panel and the classroom background in the second panel doesn't look smooth as well. The bows on the two girls in first panel, wasn't quite sure to completely darken them. I can take a look on how it's suppose to be since this page is done, but don't feel like it's the right way to learn. So any suggestions, critiques would be grateful.

well, the cleans is pretty good.you can even use it as a release scans .to tell you the truth, to get a good result, redhawk done a few experiments and discussion on kimi, thus the kimi you get now.

here is a few tip. resize the pic to 3000px. apply scratch removal filter(under noise filter if not mistaken) before doing the usual cleaning. you can use dodge tool to remove unwanted blacks. and blacken the ribbon on the first panel.

Thanks for the reply. I tried one of the latest Kimi raws, so I wouldn't have the urge to look at a finished product. Once again I just can't seem to smooth out the grays without making it look a mess. Also wasn't sure if I should completely blackend Nanami's hair. There was still some white specks in certain places when zoomed in. Not sure if I'm ready for that double firework's page... :| Sorry for replying under my previous, but didn't want to create more threads.

Can someone take a look at these and see if there's anything i need to improve? Redraw is definitely my weak point, but trying to get the grays smooth is as well...

sorry cos I didnt take a look at you work.... my real life is killin' me.
