Transformers 2, Revenge of the Fallen

Post by zijian on Sat Jun 27, 2009 11:54 am

First topic message reminder :

First, I'd like to clarify something: to those of you who are not Transformer fanboys, like myself, you'd probably figure that the "fallen" is referring to the Decepticons that got killed... No, it's this one robot called Fallen.

I'm going to try to do this review without spoiling.... too much.

ANYWAY, let's get started. I've watch this movie today with my friends as a way to celebrate last day of school. I must admit it was quite an exciting experience... In truth, when you watch the movie, you probably won't enjoy it as much if you and your friends didn't scream out loud during the exciting parts like we did XD. But we did, we had a blast, and I honestly don't think i've ever enjoyed a movie this much. Also keep in mind that I've never watched the first Transformers movie - but I dont think this matters that much as all of my friends enjoyed it as much as I did, and they've seen the first movie.

Plot: Assuming you're not a die hard transformer fan who knows everything, and would critisize the movie for going against the canon, it's quite enjoyable. The plot moves forward at a decent pace, with enough twists and turns to keep you on the edge of your seats. Bad alien robots comes to earth, humans try to protect earth, good alien robots help the human.... sounds pretty exciting, no?

Characters: The acting were good. I mean I'm not a real movie critic so I can't say much, but it looked real to me. The CGI were really, REALLY amazing. It makes me shudder thinking of the details they went through to shade and light all those metals >_> One thing my friends complain about, since they're guys, is not enough shots of Megan Fox XD

Music: Uh... Good music? Honestly wtf is there to say about music?

Action: Best action film i've seen in years, and also the only movie i've seen in the past year XD

Comedy: There are quite a few comedy reliefs as breaks from the action. they come in the right places and are enough to make you laugh out loud for.... 3-5 seconds. A lot of dirty jokes, so beware, little kiddies out there.

Overal: I'd rate this movie 9/10. I don't feel like giving it 10/10 since it's not perfect. What could they have improved on.... making the ending less cheesy =___=. Like seriously, the whole movie was great, but the cheesy ending kinda screwed with it - but at the same time it made you remember that the movie after all, is transformers, a cartoon made for kids XD.

On a final note, my view of this movie have been improved greatly, since I was sooo psyched. Why was I pysched? I saw the Avatar movie trailer before the movie started, and I couldn't forget about it.

Sorry 'bout posting in this thread so late, but I just saw the movie a few days ago... so bite me. >__>
And honestly? I'm usually the kinda guy who more or less just stares at
a movie while he's watching it, good or bad; but this one nearly tore
me out of my seat every time something exciting happened. Which, in this movie... was
a lot.
And by the way,

Spoiler:
Did anyone else nearly squeal with excitement like a schoolgirl when the twin that got eaten by the Devastator came back out and owned its ass?

Seriously, I felt like I had just beaten the sh*t out of a giant alien robot when I saw that.
.__.

The thing I liked best about the Transformers movies was that the humans didn't just go "Erm... go protect us, strange giant robots and one teenage kid!" This is one of the only movies where the human military actually does some damage to the aliens trying to eat their planet.

Spoiler:
Railgun, anyone?

Awesome visuals, bad story. There are some gaping holes in the movies storyline. But It was an awesome saturday night out movie. The visuals and CG were just FREAKIN' awesome.

Talk about coincidence.
