Re: Tomi's Cleaning Application
Hm. Not bad. Just took a quick look through them, my only complaint is the Kimi page which looks a little too dark. I think taka is on a vacation, so there probably won't be any final judgement until he gets back. Let's see what the others say.

Re: Tomi's Cleaning Application
Well...
1. Fairy Tail (double spread)
a. You'll have to work on your redraws.
b. You edited the SFX... nice... but the grays got lighter near the end. >_<
c. I see white spots, but it doesn't look like those are coming from the raw, since most of it can be found on the SFX and some other black parts... I'm guessing it's because you saved in PNG.
2. Kimi no Iru Machi
a. Overleveled. >_<
b. Haruto's uniform isn't supposed to be all black, you know...
c. Eba's hair on panel 3 doesn't look good. >_<
3. Monster Hunter Orage (double spread)
a. Nice first panel. *thumbs up*
b. The three panels below it, though... The pictures seemed a bit too sharp on the edges.
4. Naruto
a. I see some white spots like I did earlier in the Fairy Tail page. It might be your saving method... It doesn't look like speckles from the raw... Piece of advice: saving in JPEG is better for cleans.
b. I noticed you redid the greys. Nice. :)
c. Panel 2's whites would be better if you redraw the whites.
d. Last panel:

This doesn't look good...
5. TWGOK
a. You did a good job on this. :3
b. Burn everything that's supposed to be black, including Keima's feet's shadow. (You can find this on panel 1.)
c. This doesn't really bother me, but the lines separating the penguins from one another is the important thing here. You might want to make the lines clearer to the readers. (At first I didn't even realize those are penguins... >_<)
So, yeah... That's all from me... Sorry if I point out to the minor things and be too crucial... >_<

Huh? Since when?
JPEG's compression is Lossy, and to put it simply, the text(SFX) will appear fuzzy and will have weird smudgy pixels along the edges. As well, all the lines will appear messed up, just look at Onemanga. JPEG is good for color pages, however, if they have more than 256 colors. As for simple black and white, you'd want PNG-8 with 17 colors adaptive, which it appears to already be.

Re: Tomi's Cleaning Application
since..... you have to change back to rgb/greyscale mode if you want to typesett and we also limit the colour of PNG to make it small, so changing the mode back and forth makes the cleans loss a little detail....

Yes, the final product when we release is a png. In this case, seeing as we aren't typesetting these practice pages, wouldn't it also be a final product, hence a png as well?

Re: Tomi's Cleaning Application
@Scarlet: LOL, I meant for the cleans. ^^; And with the "Save As" method with the quality being 10-12, of course. I think in OneManga they just did around low quality. >_<
