Game Over: Roll Credits

To the RH & manga community,

It has been brought to our attention that one of our main translators has been arrested. We have been informed that it might be related to his involvement with one of our manga series that we are currently scanlating. Furthermore, we have been receiving C&D from Kodansha (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kodansha) to end our projects, otherwise face legal charges. However, we never thought it would escalate to this level. We are currently doing everything in our power to assist the translator in question. We are sure we can keep this person from facing any strong legal charges, however to ensure that no other member must face anything of this nature we will disband for the good of everyone here.

On another note, many of our fellow members are thinking of starting up an Anime Fansubbing group afterwards. We will be recruiting, and will be deciding on which Anime to sub for Spring/Summer of 2010. If anyone is interested please feel free to try for a position as there were not a lot of members who had experience with Fansubbing.

The RedHawk Scanlation team would like to thank you all for your support. Without you guys it wouldn’t have been
possible to get this far, so from the bottoms of all our hearts, thank you. We're incredibly sorry that we cannot continue to provide quality scans to you all. Let’s hope this Fansubbing group that we’ll be forming will stay just as strong as our scanlation counterpart has been up until now.

HI!I just wanted to say that a disband notice on april the 1st is waaaay to suspicious to be real :P
but in the off-chance it is actually the truth i wanted to extend my best wishes to the translator who got cought up in the fire
and thank the red-hawk team as a whole for the great service that has provided to us fan :)

Hi,
sorry for bothering you as it did say there was going to be a fansub
group but I was just wondering if the bulk of the users were moving to
a specific scanlation group? I'm a bit *afraid* of another group taking
over Kimi without RH's quality so was hoping you could point me in the
right direction for a group with the staff of RH if there is one.

I think before turn off the community we should try to help our guy.

The donation account could be used for any legal deposit or fine... we
can try with an announcement in the portal.

Also, in order to improve the defense, we can ask if anyone in the
community is a lawyer, or if someone is studying that degree, or
someone who have one of them as a friend. Know the jurisprudence could
be useful.

We can't lose anything by asking for support to the community.

heard that around the 1st of April, the internet popo become especially
stringent. In order to avoid another tragic happening such as what has
befallen our dear Red Hawk Scanlations group, I have a secret plan.

You
should pretend like you are closing down the fan-sub group every single
April First. If you keep it closed that day, the internet popo will
miss you. Right after (on April 2nd), you can open up the website
again because the popo's annual law-enforcing splurge will have
subsided by then. Also, in order to make it seem more realistic, you
might not want to put up a "closed banner" on top of your website
because, well, they may be suspicious as to why you would bother
creating a "closed" banner when your heart is obviously so broken by
the events that had unfolded.


Looking forward to the success of the fansub group - Babohtea from the now deceased RH forums.

Clearly it wasn't me, since I received those wonderful emails...

But yeah, Thor and I wrote the scenario, and the ideas goes to the RH Scanlation staff.

When a "lost soul" posted on MF about your "disbanding", I quickly entered your domain name on my browser and saw that it was true...

Believed it for a few seconds then remembered it was April 1st...
